Dr. Mary Kang is presently Clinical Assistant Professor at New York University, College of Dentistry. She received her DDS degree and specialty training in prosthodontics at New York University College of Dentistry.
Dr. Mary Kang completed a fellowship in Maxillofacial Prosthetics at the UCLA School of Dentistry in conjunction with Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. There she focused on rehabilitating patients with head and neck deformities due to trauma, cancer, or congenital anomalies. Patients undergoing radiation and chemotherapy were treated prior, during and post-treatment to manage their symptoms and minimize side-effects. Soon thereafter,
Dr. Kang moved to Houston, Texas to further her training and participated in the Oncologic-Based Maxillofacial Implant Fellowship Program. Here she spent a majority of her time in the operating room, placing implants in the head and neck of cancer and trauma patients. Implants not only help to retain the maxillofacial prosthesis but can dramatically improve the quality of life.
Dr. Kang is fortunate to have worked with patients in the Maxillofacial Prosthetics field in rehabilitating them so that they could enjoy the simple things in life, such as eating and speaking. Her diverse training allows her to plan and deliver a quality of care that every patient deserves to have an optimal quality of life.
